Future Perfect Tense (will + have + v3):

The Future Perfect Tense is a verb form used to describe an event that is expected or planned to happen before a time of reference in the future. It refers to a completed action in the future. When we use this tense, we are projecting ourselves forward into the future and looking back at an action that will be completed sometime later than now. The Future Perfect Tense is used to discuss actions that will be completed before a certain time.

Futre Perfect Tense

Future Perfect Tense Formed:

  • Subject + will have + past participle form of the verb (affirmative)
  • I will have completed the work by evening.
  • Subject + will not have + past participle form of the verb (negative)
  • I will not have completed the work by evening.
  • Will  + subject + have + past participate form of verb (Interrogative)
  • Will you have completed the work by evening?

Time Expression or Indicators:

by this time tomorrow, by this evening, by 5 pm today, by the end of August, by the end of this month/year, by the end of 2024/2025 etc.

Affirmative forms:

  • I will have taught all the lessons by the end of next week.
  • We will have completed 3rd semester by the 14th of August.
  •  My brother will have got a job by the end of 2025.
  • Mother will have coocked dinner by 8:30pm today.
  •  The baby will have slept by 2pm today.
  • The students will have completed college by the end ot this month.
  • The stock will have arrived by Friday.
